The Q Concerto Meta HiFi speaker is the largest in our Q Series bookshelf speaker collection. Paying tribute to the original 1969 Concerto, which was our first 3-way standmount speaker, this modernised version delivers professional high-end audio quality. Thanks to its 3-way design and Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MATâ„¢), this wired speaker is sure to deliver high-fidelity performance.
- 3-way design
- 3/4" vented aluminum dome tweeter with MAT absorber
- MAT's maze-like construction absorbs up to 99% of unwanted sound behind the tweeter for clearer, more natural sound
- 4" midrange driver
- tweeter and midrange use KEF's Uni-Q technology for greater dispersion and a wider "sweet spot"
- 6-1/2" aluminum cone bass driver
Updated UniQ driver array for extra clarity and definition
These speakers use the 12th generation of KEF's Uni-Q driver array. That driver layout puts the tweeter right in the middle of the midrange cone, which causes high-frequency and midrange sounds to originate from a single, consolidated point. That widens the ever-important "sweet spot" while, at the same time, more evenly dispersing sound throughout your room.
The midrange driver uses the same Flexible Decoupling Chassis found on KEF's flagship Blade and Reference speaker models. It decouples the midrange's motor structure from the rest of the Uni-Q array and prevents pesky coloration and cabinet vibrations from muddying the sound.
KEF's Shadow Flare, also borrowed from their higher-end models, surrounds the Uni-Q array. It acts almost like sound damping material, preventing baffle reflections and diffraction from interfering with your sound.
Improved tweeter performance with MAT
The tweeter has a redesigned cone-shaped waveguide and a new tweeter gap material damper that tames high-frequency imperfections for impeccable clarity. It also uses a new technology that KEF calls "MAT," or Metamaterial Absorption Technology. It's a small plate that's nested behind the tweeter and has a labyrinth-like structure that absorbs up to 99% of unwanted sound behind the driver, killing off any harsh resonances and distortions.
A cutting-edge woofer for clear, accurate bass
Below the Uni-Q driver array is a 6-1/2" hybrid aluminum bass driver. It's made of two components: a paper cone covered by a shallow, concave aluminum film. That gives the drivers the low weight and high rigidity needed for lighting-quick performance. The bass it provides is surprisingly deep, precise, and detailed.
