Updated Uni-Q driver array for extra clarity and definition
These speakers use the 12th generation of KEF's famed Uni-Q driver array. That driver layout puts the tweeter right in the middle of the midrange cone, which causes high-frequency and midrange sounds to originate from a single, consolidated point. That widens the ever-important "sweet spot" while, at the same time, more evenly dispersing sound throughout your room.
Improved tweeter performance with MAT
The tweeter has a redesigned cone-shaped waveguide and a new tweeter gap material damper that tames high-frequency imperfections for impeccable clarity. It also uses a new technology that KEF calls "MAT," or Metamaterial Absorption Technology. It's a small plate that's nested behind the tweeter and has a labyrinth-like structure that absorbs up to 99% of unwanted sound behind the driver, killing off any harsh resonances and distortions.
